Australia and Oceania Meetings and Events

I am planning to travel to Tasmania on 25th December to 31th December. Right now I am looking for people who are in Tasmania at the same time and who want to make a roundtrip starting in Launceston in that time period. For more information etc please email.

There are quite a few Brisbane VTers, so I thought it might be fun to have a get together so that we can put faces to the names. At this stage, I am thinking that somewhere pretty central might be a good idea, so here are a few suggestions that we can maybe consider and vote on. Chez Laila at Southbank, The Deck overlooking the river at Merthyr Bowls Club at New Farm or maybe the Gardens Cafe in the city. Can anyone suggest any more suitable places? I lean more towards a place that has a nice outlook, supplies liquor, coffee and food all as options for those who wish to partake of one or all of them. Have a think about it and let's all make an effort to get there if possible and of course it goes without saying that out of towners or indeed folk from ouside of Australia will also be most welcome. In fact, it would be really great to have some visitors along to make the conversation even more interesting. Please indicate your interest ASAP so that I can start organising bookings etc. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible. UPDATE: One member has suggested a barbecue in New farm Park which is easily accessibly by City Cat. I really like this idea as it will be far more relaxed and if there are quite a few people we can easily move around and chat. If there are no objections, we will probably go with this idea. If you wish to come but don't like the BBQ idea, please contact me ASAP.

UPDATE UPDATE: New Farm Park it is. 1pm Sunday January 18,2009. Bring your own meat and drinks and maybe a small salad, sweet or nibblies to share. I will advise everyone closer to time of the exact location of the meet.

I am going to sydney in feb 2009. First time travelling and just looking for people to meet up with really and have a few beers with!

Ok you've been waiting for it and now it's been decided...The dates for this great meeting are 10th - 13th September, 2009.

Airlie and the Whitsundays are truly one of Australia's best known and much loved destinations. It will be a fantastic weekend of good food, luxury accomodation, spectacular surroundings and of course all of us happy VT'rs...what more could you want?

The finer details will be posted as time goes on and we will keep you updated on what we have planned. So all we need now is for you to put your name down and we will take care of all the rest.

Just to let you all know, I won't be on VT much from the 24 July to early Sept. I will be off travelling around Europe and the UK. So until my return I have passed the reins on to Ann [Aussierose] and Zig [1+1]. So if there are any questions etc I am sure they will be more than happy to help out.
