Ireland Meetings and Events

I'm taking a day off work to see something special. I'm going on my own, and then I thought I'd open it up to all VT members. Short notice & unusual event, but who knows...

Laytown is near Drogheda. Once a year it holds a horse race meeting which is the same as anything you'll see at Longchamps, Epsom or Monmouth Park - except that it takes place on the beach at low tide. For more information look at www.goracing.ie and select the Laytown tab on the left.

First race is at 3pm. The 6th and last is at 5.30.

I'll be renting a small car at Dublin airport about 10am, and could take anyone who needs transport. I'll be having lunch somewhere near Drogheda.

Hello - I'm in Dublin and decided to have a spur of the moment meeting. The Westin Hotel upgraded us to a wonderful room with extra living area. I'd like to invite Dublin members and any other members passing by to join me for appetizers, beer and wine in our room from 6:00 to 7:30. I also brought some VT goodies that I'd like to share.

Please let me know - I'd love to meet some of our members from this area. Dublin is fabulous.

A relaxing weekend of food, drink, convesation, craic, music and mayhem in Cork's lively pubs and restaurants.

Starting on Friday evening, October 17. at 7 with food, drink and trad music.

Saturday, is dedicated to the great outdoors and you can choose from a range of afternoon trips to Kinsale, Cobh or Blarney or alternatively, a full day trip to West Cork or Kerry. Public transport connections are available to all of these places at prices ranging from EUR 7-22.

Saturday evening: dinner and a great Cork tradition - the Pub Crawl. A chance to visit two or three of our more famous pubs before settling in for the evening. Clubbing later of course, for those who like to dance.

Sunday morning: brunch and city sightseeing for the energetic....... or just brunch.

Hostel accommodation available from EUR 14, B&B from EUR 40-60. Google, Cork bed & Breakfast.

Hello Baile Átha Cliath!

After attending the VT meeting "A Taste of Ireland in Cork", I will be in recovery in Dublin for three days (October 20-21-22 ;-)

So why not to meet for an After... plans (eat, drink, dance, farniente...) will be defined later with the potential attendees.
