Meetings and Events Calendar

This meeting's main aim is to make VT members who live in Ankara get together. Then while we are having our drinks we can discuss & share our opinion about "the idea of big Turkey meeting in the future" besides our travel stories.

Off course VT'ers who are at around in that time are welcome to join us. We ll be happy to meet them.

I am coming to St. Petersburg in june 17th, stay 3 nights in the hotel before taking a cruise from june 20th in St.Petersburg to Valaam - Mandrogi - Kishi - Nadroice - Belomorsk(Solovjetski Island / Archipel Gulag) - Goritsy - Uglitch - arriving in Moscow in July 2nd,2009
I will stay onboard in Moscow till July 4th and then 3 more nights in a hotel.

Hi everybody this friday i`m going to play mi guitar and sing a little.
At 18 hs begins the tango classes at 19:30 i play some tangos and milongas at 20:30 again tango classes until 22:hs then it becomes a milonga and everybody dance, drink and eat. This is this fryday 10 in Belgranodance Blanco Encalada 2848 Belgrano

Important research needs to be done on local bars, restaurants, food, beer, and at least one hotel. Volunteers are needed!

I am a male 35 yrs old and I would like too meet other travelers/backpackers in that area. I land at Bangkok airport 11 July and my plan is to go down to Krabi and Phi Phi. Possible I will be traveling in to Malaysia. I am a flexible person, open minded and outgoing so it would be nice to meet someone to share the part of this vacation with. I will go home on July 28.

As part of the VT treasure hunt meeting I have organised a friday night at the Wimbledon Greyhound Racing Track.

We will meet just outside Wimbledon tube station side exit by the Wimbledon shopping complex at btw 6.30 - 6.45pm. We will then catch a taxi or a bus to the stadium. The turnstiles open at 6.30pm and the first race starts at 7.30pm.
For those driving there is a large free car park. if you prefer to go straight there you can get the train to Haydens Road (First Capital Connect)

I am arranging the first ever VT Treasure hunt which will give you an opportunity to discover London in a whole new way whilst being cost effective.

I have devised 3 separate areas of this great city to explore with plenty of photo opportunities! All this will cost you is the price of a travelcard, lunch in your teams & your picnic dinner and perhaps a bottle or 2 of vino which will be picked up by yourselves en-route to the park. I have a supply of paper plates, plastic goblets & a bottle opener Londoners please bring picnic blankets.

Here is the basic program

Friday night (an optional event for those wanting to join in - please sign separate meeting page 17/07/2009) will take place at Wimbledon dog stadium - greyhound racing is a very traditional London sport. Cheap entry and if you decide to try your hand at gambling the bets can be as little as 50p. Saturday will be a treasure hunt involving teams of vt'ers let loose in London finding clues. The VT comittee have promised sponsered prizes for the winning team

The day will end with all attendees relaxing and socialising in London's fantastic Hyde park - at this time of year London is noted to have long balmy summer evenings so games (footie, rounders, board games perhaps), pedaloes / row boats etc can be organised. There will be plenty of places to pick your picnic up en route.

VT member yumyum (Switzerland) and me, (HORSCHECK, Germany) will be in lovely Szczecin (Poland) for a few days.

On Sunday the 19th of July we plan to organise a little international VT meeting.

The rough plan is to meet in the late morning, walk around the city, do some sightseeing, have a few drinks and discuss the latest travel news and VT gossip.

So who's up for another meet?!

Valerie (BorneoGirl) is coming downunder and would love to meet up with us locals. A few of you have been asking when the next meet might be, so now we have an occasion :o) I was thinking of the great times we have had at Little Creatures in Freo in the past and thought it was about time we visited again. So how about it!?

Meeting place is at the Merchant cafe in Murray street mall, Perth at 9am for a quick coffee & chat, then we can take a train to Fremantle, have a wander around, visit the markets and then hit Little Creatures at 12 noon for lunch. Some of you may want to meet us at Little Creatures.

A nice way for us to return to Perth is on the Captain Cook cruise at 3pm and perhaps finish with a couple of drinks at the Lucky Shag. Of course, all are invited and if anyone else is visiting Perth at this time, then you are most welcome to join us :o) Please sign up below.
